My heart breaks each time, I hear of kids getting starved, abused, beaten by the very people who are supposed to love and protect them.

From many years, the war begins at home. Each year million children are reported as victims of child abuse and neglect.

In India, stats and numbers are really terrifying as we can’t see children as individuals. Most of the families, think children are subsidiaries of their parents.

As a parent, we need to shield our children from physical or any other abuse. The best thing we can do for our children is to love them, support them and keep them safe from harm and abuse.

A child should never suffer or be abused based on the fact that the responsible adult is ignorant or unable to take care of him/her.

Now talking about our families and homes, who are most vulnerable and get affected with our relationships with our closed ones, partners, family or relatives?

Our children…

It doesn’t matter at what age they get affected. The truth is that they get affected and we ignore them. We only focus on our pain and healing and neglect their suffering completely.

They need our assurance and full attention in those times but we feel exhausted to provide them. Yes there are many resources available everywhere to learn and know more about these.

The online event saw 17,600 people donating to 570 nonprofits across the country

Bangalore (Karnataka) April 05: India’s largest fundraising event in the nonprofit calendar got even bigger this year with 570 large and small NGOs collectively raising ₹23.48 crore to fund their charitable programmes.

This year, the participating NGOs received the highest ever amount as matching rewards from GiveIndia. The event also saw a total of 17,600 supporters from around the world donating to various causes on the platform.

The GiveIndia Fundraising Challenge (GFC) is a one-of-a-kind online event spread over the last two months of the financial year. Every year, it sees some of the most well-known Indian NGOs leverage the end-of-year tax saving made on donations to appeal to their donors and take part.

Bengaluru-based nonprofit GiveIndia has been running this annual event for the last eight years to encourage NGOs to learn and adapt newer ways to raise funds and end the financial year on a high. #GFC2022 had several incentives in the form of ‘success slabs’ and ‘mega rewards’, which resulted in the highest NGO participation ever.

Apart from the matching rewards, GiveIndia assigns campaign managers to individual NGOs to handhold them through the event, help them with the skills to expand and engage with donor networks in India and abroad, best practices, appeal for donations on social media and through other forms of communication.

This year, #GFC2022 offered a rewarding structure for all the participating NGOs from the smallest to the biggest including weekly booster incentives to increase efforts and encourage consistent fundraising during the entire event.

#GFC2022’s top five NGOs were Team Everest, Deesha Education Foundation, Abhinav Samaj, Mahavir Foundation Trust and Jabala Action Research Organisation who got maximum contributions ranging from ₹74 lakh to ₹1.97 crore.

Talking about the fundraising event, Sumit Tayal, COO, GiveIndia said, “GFC2022 has proved to be the biggest ever, and we are thankful for the enthusiastic participation of the NGOs and thousands of donors. We at GiveIndia are committed to supporting our NGOs in their fundraising efforts and bridging the gap between donors and trusted nonprofits. We will continue to build on this year’s success and make the Indian philanthropy ecosystem even bigger.”

Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition Empowerment Ride – 2022

-members of the BSF Seema Bhawani All-Women Daredevil Motorcycle Team successfully concluded an incredible journey of 5280 kms in 18 days, from New Delhi to Kanyakumari, on their Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycles

Chennai, March 29, 2022: Flagged off on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022, from India Gate in New Delhi, the BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition Empowerment Ride – 2022 successfully concluded its remarkable journey from New Delhi to Kanyakumari to Chennai today. Organized in close collaboration with the Border Security Force and Royal Enfield, the Expedition led by Inspector Himanshu Sirohi concluded a grueling 5280-km ride that traversed diverse terrains across Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on the all-new Royal Enfield Classic 350s. To celebrate this incredible feat, Royal Enfield organized a special felicitation ceremony for the team at its Vallam Vadagal facility near Chennai.

Conceptualized to propagate the message of women empowerment, and celebrate women’s achievements, the Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition 2022 saw 36 women riders interact with various riding communities and audiences along the way with an intent to sensitize and build more awareness about the capabilities of women while emphasizing freedom from bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, B. Govindarajan, Executive Director, Royal Enfield said, “For more than 70 years, Royal Enfield has proudly been in service of the Indian Armed Forces and Central Forces, and have been trusted allies of these teams across most extreme terrains. We are very happy to have had an opportunity to collaborate with the BSF once again on such an incredible expedition. It has been heartening to see this all-women team ride the Royal Enfield Classic 350s across the country for spreading the message of equality and empowerment of women. At Royal Enfield, we believe riding is a means to self expression, and it has been our endeavour to create more opportunities for women to ride. This expedition will certainly inspire many more women to break the glass ceiling and pursue their passions. We wish the team all the best in their future endeavors and hope to have the honour and the opportunity to associate on many more such initiatives in the future.”

Each of these 36 riding team members were felicitated with a Certificate and a Trophy of Honour by Mr. Govindarajan for having been a part of this truly amazing motorcycle expedition.  

The riding contingent of women were happy to be at the Royal Enfield manufacturing facility. Having ridden these motorcycles for their renowned, daredevil, motorcycle-formation performances on the Rajpath every Republic Day parade, these women were keen to see and learn how these Royal Enfield Classics are manufactured and assembled. The Seema Bhawani team keenly engaged with and spoke to the factory teams, especially to the Royal Enfield women workforce on the assembly line.

BSF Seema Bhawani All-Women Daredevil Motorcycle Team was raised in the year 2016, and has some magnificent and stunning performances to its credit including having displayed their skills twice on the occasion of Republic Day Parade at Rajpath, New Delhi in 2018 and 2022. All along the expedition, the Seema Bhawani riders were joined by riding communities as well as youth, who cheered them on, applauding their determination and fortitude while on this challenging expedition. The BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition “Empowerment Ride – 2022” witnessed exhilarating moments of team spirit and camaraderie from the riders, encouraged by the amazing support from enthralled audiences along the route.

Bengaluru, March 4, 2022: redBus, India’s largest online bus ticketing platform, has launched, ‘Here for her’- a campaign aimed at offering a more comfortable road travel experience for women. The campaign is being rolled out ahead of Women’s Day, as a tribute to women who are increasingly embracing road travel, with the objective of offering them a more hygienic and safe option when using toilets at rest stops during journeys. Being the largest player in the bus transport sector with several features and initiatives to its credit, that have made bus travel seamless for millions of people, this well thought out and detailed initiative is intended at relieving women of the anxieties associated with using unclean toilets at roadside pit stops, relieving them of immense physiological stress.   

As part of this campaign, women representatives of redBus will distribute free hygiene kits for women travellers at major bus boarding points and even explain their usage to those who are unfamiliar with such products. redBus has associated with Pee Buddy, a home-grown FemTech startup, seeking to break the stigma around intimate female hygiene, for this initiative. As a pilot, redBus is setting up kiosks at major bus stations in Bengaluru and Pune, between 6th March and 8th March, to facilitate distribution of about 10,000 kits to its women passengers and intends to scale it to other regions subsequently. 

Speaking on the initiative, Pallavi Chopra, Sr. Vice President & Head, Marketing, at redBus, stated, “’Here for her’ is a novel initiative from redBus that will make a huge difference to how women perceive their long-distance road travel, which they are anxious about at times of having to use toilets that may not be clean and hygienic. Mumbai, February 28, 2022: Today is the nationwide launch of navyasa by Liva; a contemporary saree brand from the Aditya Birla Group. Deepika Padukone will be the face of this much-awaited creative fashion retail brand. The first four stores launched today are in India’s top cities; Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore that will open doors to a world of artful and fashionable sarees.
