How many of us step out of our houses with a packed lunch that is nutritious, home made and balanced? While many of us do take pains to prepare the staple dal chawal or roti sabji, seldom are these meals complete and balanced. Add to it the struggle of preparing fresh meals daily.
Most of us depend on meals served in office cafeterias and delivery partners like Zomato and Swiggy. While there is no dearth of outlets serving meal options and endless variety, can we really vouch for the freshness and nutritiousness of these meals?
Like most of us, Nikhil, a Noida based individual working in corporates since over a decade faced the same challenge. He hated that his wife cooked for him every day, along with handling numerous responsibilities of work, chores and kids. While she never hesitated to cook him a healthy lunch box, there was often a challenge of early shifts or situations where cooking was no an option, leaving her restless since she knew how much her husband likes ghar ka khaana.
Identifying the potential and acknowledging the lack of good taste in most outlets in Noida, Disha and Nikhil decided to take matters in their own hands and ventured out with their small set up of cloud kitchen named “The Office Khana.” As the name suggests, their prime clientele has been corporates living alone or the ones who prefer to eat healthy and balanced meals.
Disha, being an ex-chef has been on board preparing recipes, conducting food trials and finalizing menus so that the lunch that goes out is not just balanced and healthy but also visually appealing. She takes care of color combinations, hand picks freshest of ingredients and ensures the staff understands the importance of food hygiene.
Nikhil is out there marketing the product and ensuring it meets the right clientele. They started with only lunch thalis in August 2021, and since then have served meals to over 6000 people in Noida. As of now, their menu has increased to over fifteen items including a variety of thalis, rice bowls and evening snacks.
The demand for good food also led them to partner with food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy and are now catering to all kinds of clients and serving at most locations in Noida. Besides providing meals, they also have a team to take catering assignments for small office and personal parties. Whether its street style Chinese you are looking for, or a typical Punjabi food or a range of bakery products, they are an expert in all.
This is not all, they claim to have established hygiene standards in such a way that they serve the same meal prepared in the kitchen to their own kids. Is there anything that can vouch the food quality better?
The couple being an enthusiastic for celebrations, often come up with special festive menus and discounts. This valentine’s day, they are running various promotions on Zomato and Swiggy. They also have special offers for The Pink Journey readers where in they are offering a flat 10% discount on all party caterings! Till end of this month.
